Company ProfileScreenAdventures was founded to maximize opportunities created by New Zealand’s growing international profile as a provider of screen entertainment. The company is developing film and television product designed specifically for the global market. 1n 1999 directors Michael Hurst and William Kircher began initial discussions on the potential of a New Zealand company that would focus primarily on producing film and television entertainment for the international market. At that time Michael was working in Auckland with American production company Pacific Renaissance and William was an Executive with Cloud 9 Screen Entertainment, a UK company with a production base in Wellington. Both these organizations were creating excellent international products with New Zealand cast and crews. With these companies seeing the advantage of filming in this country, and with projects such as the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy raising the profile of the New Zealand industry, Michael and William believed that New Zealand would grow to become a significant force in the supply of screen production to the global market. Late in 2001 ScreenAdventures was founded. The mission: to link international and local investment with New Zealand production talent and technical expertise to create outstanding screen entertainment. ScreenAdventures maintains offices in Auckland city and at the Avalon Film Studios in Wellington. Over the past twenty-four months we have been laying the foundations of the company by developing a range of product in various genre and budgets. All designed to appeal to an international audience. ScreenAdventures is marketing three feature film projects. The company has sourced international investors for production of Damnation Island that goes into production in Fiji January, 2008.
